The West Sussex Learning and Development Gateway is the County Council’s training and professional development portal through which it is possible to view and book online opportunities from an extensive programme available to local authority staff and its range of partner agencies, organisations and services. Some of the opportunities offered through the Gateway are also accessible to residents of West Sussex.
Anyone with internet access can view ‘ the Gateway’. Using a search engine, type in West Sussex Learning and Development Gateway or www.westsussexcpd.co.uk and this will take you to the Gateway’s home / launch page. You can navigate within the public areas of the Gateway by using ‘key word’ or calendar functions to find specific topics or known events. More information about an event can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Full Details’ tab for the session.
However, to book a place on an event and to access the full ‘functionality’ of the system (such as setting up email alerts, developing a CPD record etc.) requires the applicant to first request a ‘learning account’. To do this, simply click on the ‘General Enquiry and New User Request’ tab on the home page. Complete the dialogue boxes, remembering to tick the ‘I wold like a user account’ box. If you have a line manager please put their details so they can ‘authorise’ bookings you make.
Once your account request has been received by the administration team it will take 1 to 5 days for your account to be set up. When this happens you will be sent a temporary username and password to allow you to log-in and access ‘the Gateway’ fully. Using the ‘My Learning’ tab in your account, these temporary details can be changed to something more memorable once you have logged -in.
