The Virtual Dementia Tour is “a scientifically proven method of building a greater understanding of dementia through the use of patented sensory tools and instruction – is Your Window Into Their World. The Virtual Dementia Tour (VDT) sensitivity training program is designed to give individuals and organisations the ability to help identify with and understand people with dementia’s behaviours and needs. Learning to create a positive environment for those with dementia can only come from attempting to walk in their shoes. The Virtual Dementia Tour is a unique, interactive training experience that is proven to improve communication and care.”

The tour is two and a half hours long and costs £25 per person plus VAT. The tour comprises of the experience and a debrief after the session with one of the trainers.

The company have recently set up a mobile bus to tour the training and they have asked if the bus was available for 3 days in our area how much take up would there be.

Martha Pusey of the Aldingbourne Trust is provisionally considering between 11th – 13th April with the bus being parked at one of Aldingbourne’s residential units in Bognor.
