Arun & Chichester Community Cohesion Group 

ACCG (2)

This is a multi-agency partnership that encompasses public and voluntary/community sector representatives. It developed from the Portuguese Community Group and was created in part to respond to the influx of migrant workers that came to Arun and Chichester area to live and work. The priority areas of work for the group are:

  • Support for migrant worker communities
  • Intergenerational work
  • Proactive integration
  • Addressing community tensions
  • Communications & Myth-busting

Arun Wellbeing & Health Partnership

Arun WellBeingArun Wellbeing can help you to find local wellbeing information and services. You can also get support for things like getting your family fitter, doing some regular exercise, dealing with stress, kicking a habit, or simply improving your general wellbeing.
Arun Wellbeing is a free, friendly and impartial service from your local authority, the NHS and other partners.
As well as using the website, you can discuss local activities and support services by talking to our friendly Wellbeing Advisors over the phone or in person.

Arun Think Family Neighbourhoods Steering Group

Think FamilySupport to troubled families in Arun is to be increased through a commitment from Arun District Council for the expansion of the ‘Think Family’ programme. This scheme provides support and early intervention for those who are most vulnerable, reducing the chance of further problems within families and their communities. 


Chichester in Partnership – Local Strategic Partnership

CDC_LSP1Chichester in Partnership is the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) for the Chichester district. It is an umbrella body bringing together a wide range of organisations from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors. The LSP is a non statutory partnership i.e. they do not have any legal basis to specifically undertake services. The LSP exists to ensure that different organisations talk to each other and coordinate their work for the benefit of the local area. As well as develop the Sustainable Community Strategy for the area.

Public Engagement Committee – Coastal Commissioning Group

Website

A clinical commissioning group is a NHS organisation that brings together local GPs and experienced health professionals to take on commissioning responsibilities for local health services.
As commissioners of local health services, a CCG is responsible for planning the right services to meet the needs of local people, buying local health services including community health care and hospital services, and checking that the services are delivering the best possible care and treatment for those who need them.
A CCG has to work within a local budget from the NHS for local health services and work closely with other NHS colleagues and local authorities to ensure local people are receiving the best possible care. 

Currently there are voluntary opportunities within the following groups:

  • Public Engagement Committee – four public members
  • Arun Locality Board
  • Chichester Locality Board
  • Primary Care Oversight Group
  • Adur and Worthing Going Local

Safer Arun Partnership

Safer Arun PartnershipThe Safer Arun Partnership is about working together, with communities, for communities. The team works to drive down crime and anti-social behaviour across the district with one common goal – to build an Arun that is safer and where people feel safer.

Syrian Refugees

Arun and Chichester Districts will be housing Syrian refugees as part of the national scheme. A Locality Steering Group has been set up to provide support for this scheme.


West Sussex Health & Wellbeing Board

Website

The West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board, working from its agreed joint strategy, leads on improving the coordination of commissioning across the National Health Service (NHS), social care and public health services.
The Board brings together elected members, leaders from the NHS, social care and the voluntary sector to work together and support one another to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population and reduce health inequalities.
