Treasurer

For Chichester Fringe

Register your Interest

We're looking for a volunteer Treasurer. You would join our Community Interest Company Board as a Director and Treasurer.

As Treasurer, you will help the Board manage all aspects of Chichester Fringe’s financial affairs. More broadly, as a Director, you will use your skills, experience and insight to help ensure the Fringe is run in a way that is legal, responsible and effective.

You will also help ensure that we use the money that we raise as effectively as possible and work with our team to set the future direction of the Fringe.

The role involves:

  • Processing receipts and payments using online banking.
  • Overseeing the financial affairs of the CIC, and ensure they are legal, constitutional and follow generally accepted accounting practice.
  • Ensuring that proper records are kept of payments and receipts and that effective financial procedures are in place.
  • Monitoring and monthly reporting on the financial health of the CIC.
  • Preparing financial schedules for the purpose of fundraising.
  • Preparing the statutory annual financial reports, returns and accounts, and submitting the accounts and returns to Companies House and HMRC.

Currently the other CIC Board Directors operate the accounts but are now looking to appoint a Treasurer as the organisation increases its activities.

Skills

You won’t need deep previous financial experience. However, you should have some experience preparing spreadsheets and using online banking to make payments to suppliers.

About Chichester Fringe

Chichester Fringe is an annual multi-arts festival in and around Chichester which was established in 2021. Its mission is to break down barriers for up-and-coming performers, providing them with free spaces and enabling them to showcase their work. The Fringe also gives opportunities for behind-the-scenes roles, including stage management, photography, web design, social media and musical direction. The Fringe supports the diversity of the arts in Chichester and promotes lesser-known arts venues.
