On Saturday 18th January we held our New Year, New Possibilities volunteer recruitment fair with Chichester City Council. 35 local organisations attended to promote their current volunteer roles and also enjoyed the chance to network with each other.
Over 160 potential volunteers came through the doors and appreciated the opportunity to find out about many different volunteering roles in the same room! One volunteer said, “This event is a great idea! I’ve been thinking about volunteering for a while but had no idea where to start. A friend told me about this event and it’s been brilliant! Thank you.”
Thank you to all our organisations for attending and helping to create such a welcoming, informative atmosphere, and thanks also to our colleagues at Chichester City Council for hosting and helping to run the event.
Volunteer Day in Photos
We enjoyed our Volunteer Recruitment Fair at the Council House, Chichester, during Volunteers Week 2024 together with Chichester City Council.
A brilliant 30 organisations came along to promote their volunteering opportunities during the Big Help Out weekend, at the end of national Volunteers Week. Lots of potential volunteers popped in to find out more. We even were able to enjoy the Morris Dancing that happened to be positioned right outside the Council House!
Thank you to all those of you who attended – volunteers and organisation representatives.

Volunteer Recruitment Fair
Promoting volunteering!
VAAC’s annual Volunteer Fair was held on Saturday 13th January 2024, at Rustington Methodist Church. Our volunteer fair is an opportunity for potential volunteers to find out what they can do to help their local communities, and this year we held it in January for those people looking to start something different for the New Year.
We had an amazing group of 30 local charities, groups and organisations attend to promote their volunteering opportunities; from Rotary clubs, to community transport, to environmental groups – and everything in between! What a fantastic representation of our local community groups, with a real mix of volunteering roles to get involved in.
Throughout the morning, approximately 170 local Arun & Chichester residents attended the event to find out how they can help in 2024 – a record number of attendees for our Volunteer Fair by far. Several groups reported they hadn’t stopped talking to potential volunteers the whole morning, and some said it was the best volunteer recruitment event they’d ever been to.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended, from all the community organisations to the volunteers looking to take up something new (or in one volunteer’s case, to find some more volunteering roles to do around her other 3 that she does during the week!)
