Adult learning and development opportunities for the voluntary sector

  • Chichester College Group offer a flexible approach to learning through their free online nationally recognised courses called Vocational-Related Qualifications. Courses include business administration, healthcare, understanding autism or dementia care.
  • West Sussex County Council offers free Skills Bootcamps, a new initiative designed to help residents gain practical, sought after skills that local employers are seeking. Whether you’re starting out, changing careers, or aiming to progress, these flexible courses provide a fresh approach to learning. The Adult Learning Service provides learning opportunities that enable adults and families to participate in impactful and accessible training courses, including maths, english and digital skills.
  • Chichester District Foodbank offers a range of free groups designed to help you build skills, find support, connect with others, and enjoy creative activities.

Are you working in the charity sector and feeling called to support others on a more professional level? Chichester Counselling Services (CCS), a respected local charity, is now accepting applications for its Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling Theory and Skills. This part-time, entry-level course will run from September 2026 to July 2027 and is designed for people from a wide range of personal and professional backgrounds – including those in healthcare, education and the voluntary sector – who want to explore counselling or deepen their understanding of human relationships. The Certificate course, which can be taken as standalone, also forms the first part of CCS’ BACP-accredited three-year Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Psychodynamic). Whether you’re considering a new career path or simply looking to enhance your ability to support others in your current role, the Certificate offers a rich, reflective learning experience.
