We’re aware that many of our members will be concerned about the current Cost of Living Crisis and how it will impact both their own organisation and their members/service users.
We want to know what your concerns are so that we can see how best we can support you, and so that we can ensure our statutory partners are aware of the issues when formulating their own responses. We’d also like to know if you are running any specific campaigns or responses to the crisis so that we are aware of what is happening within the sector locally. Please let us know what your concerns and worries are at this time by adding a sticky note to our jam board here (there are two frames so please answer the second question as well)

Cost of Giving Crisis
As charities across the country work towards another difficult winter, our latest research among members reveals the alarming scale of the challenges facing our sector. With costs climbing, income falling and demand increasing, this is no longer just a cost of living crisis. For charities, who give so much to society, this is a Cost of Giving Crisis.

British Land have commissioned the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Bayes Business School to produce a series of factsheets to help their partners access the support they need, particularly as inflation increases the cost of energy, rent, supplies and wages.
These factsheets will provide a range of information and links to resources covering topics from planning and operations to strategy and governance, and economic resilience during a time of crisis. They will aim to update and reissue this resource on a monthly basis for a further three months.
Many organisations are opening their venues up to the public as “Warm Spaces” this winter, somewhere people can go to keep warm if they are struggling to heat their own homes. Look at the links below to find maps of the “Warm Spaces” that have been registered so far (please note there may be different locations on each site.)
If you are opening your venue as a Warm Space you can register on these sites as well, so that people can find out what spaces are available nearby.

Warm Spaces
Many of the Warm Spaces, funded by Arun District Council, that supported residents through the winter are set to stay open through Spring and beyond. The feedback received from attendees is not just that they have provided a place to keep warm and seek advice but that they have also been good in helping tackle loneliness or ‘keeping in touch’ – as due to the cost of living many people no longer go on their weekly trip into town for a coffee or shopping with friends or family. It’s hoped these ‘spring spaces’ can help fill that gap. Please look out for your local space.
