As we rely on the generous donations of the public to allow us to continue rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need, fundraising events and other activities help towards covering the cost of our operations here at The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre, which total around £850,000 a year

Your support as a fundraising volunteer is vital in allowing us to continue our work helping cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs across West Sussex and Hampshire.

As a Fundraising Volunteer, your role may include:

  • Distribute and collect donation collection tins from shops, vets, pubs and clubs around your area
  • Collecting animal food and supplies donations from shops and vets around your area
  • Assisting at The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre’s own events, including our beloved Summer Fayre
  • Helping to sort and prepare goods for sale at our fundraising events
  • Run a stall on behalf of The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre at events organised by other groups of organisations
  • Operating street and store collections
  • Hosting or initiating fundraising events to benefit our charity at places of work or community groups
  • Helping with admin tasks such as sorting raffle tickets or preparing packs, and approaching local businesses for raffle prizes or sponsorship
  • Knitting catnip mice for the enjoyment of cats in our care and for sale in our charity shops

You’ll meet and work with other wonderful volunteers that share the same goal of raising crucial funds for animals in need. We also welcome your ideas for our fundraising events or activities which you can develop and put into practice with support from our Fundraising & Media Manager.

About Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre

The Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre was founded in 1986 to Rescue and Rehome Cats, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. We have helped over 25,000 animals and rehome about 1,000 a year.

The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre is an independent charity based in Sidlesham, who are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitation and re-homing cats, kittens, rabbits and guinea pigs. Our ethos is never to put a healthy animal to sleep and to continue to search for a suitable, loving forever home. Animals that are not adopted stay with us for the rest of their lives. We never put a healthy animal to sleep. We also have an active fostering scheme, help with neutering costs, deal with feral colonies and work to educate the public to be good, sensible and loving pet owners.
