
This voluntary position is aimed at supporting visitors to the museum.
The volunteers help in explaining the exhibits, talking about their background and role and their importance in the history of Tangmere airfield.
They may also assist in the running of the shop and supporting the permanent shop staff.
Full training and mentoring is provided.
Applicants do not need aviation experience but must be willing to learn about the exhibits we have and their role in the past. The ability to relate to and speak confidently to visitors is essential.
An aviation museum showing how a leading RAF station functioned and worked from 1918 to 1970. This includes the aircraft, artefacts and facts about the people serving the many squadrons based here.
The museum exists to conserve and exhibit the history of Tangmere airfield, it's satellite airfields, and their relationship with military aviation.
It aims to promote the public understanding of the role and achievements of the people involved with military aviation and to preserve our heritage for the benefit and education of future generations.

We need individuals who are willing to commit to one day per week. The ability to work a single day at weekends once in every month would be very welcome. Alternatively, the ability to commit to just a single weekend day in every month would be a very welcome commitment
