Our Community Programme provides nearly 200 people who have a range of support needs with meaningful, long-term opportunities to be creative.
Volunteers can be involved in two different roles:
In this role volunteers support the regular studio sessions and workshops that run throughout the week. We offer sessions where people can work on a personal project with the support of an artist facilitator and workshops exploring a different focus each month, often connected to the gallery exhibitions and collection.
Partners in Art provides opportunities for people to access the art world on an equal footing, with a volunteer who shares their passion. Partners are matched on their creative interests and the focus is on art, not people’s disability or support needs. Each partnership is different and unique to the people in it, with Partners in Art meeting at the Gallery as well as out and about. Partnerships can last for as long as the partners like, with the majority staying together for over a year.
An interest in art is key. All levels of experience of art and creativity are welcome.
We are looking for people who are non judgmental, open-minded and care about people.
