We are looking for weekday volunteers over the age of 18, to help us with supporting our Day Service Customers whilst they undertake activities. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Ferring Country Centre Support Team to enable adults with learning disabilities to achieve their full potential.
Working alongside our permanent Support Workers, you will assist in supporting activities such as classroom work, horticulture, farm work, stable work and off-site visits.
All volunteers have a supportive role to a wide variety of individuals. The role complements the work of paid staff; it helps and assists building community links and improving the abilities and self-esteem of FCC's customers. All volunteers are expected to assist members of staff to support the customer group in their chosen training activity.
FCC recognises the value provided by volunteers and aims to ensure their work is enjoyable and rewarding. Volunteers can make a significant contribution to the work of the Centre.
FCC welcomes applications from persons who are willing and have the skills to help to support and develop FCC's customers to their full potential.
Volunteers do not need specific experience in social care, but must be committed to FCC's customer group and help with their development and work-based training.
FCC is a local independent Charity providing meaningful training and work experience to people with learning disabilities. Clients develop work and social skills by assisting us with operating our Riding Therapy Unit, Garden Centre, Animal Farm, Cafe and community projects.
Our mission is to support people with learning disbilities to grow their independence, connect with others and create a good life.
