Help us preserve the historic buildings and grounds of Fishbourne Roman Palace by joining our hands-on maintenance volunteer team.
Whether you’re a qualified tradesperson or just have a passion for DIY, your skills will help keep this remarkable site safe, functional, and looking its best.
From general repairs and equipment upkeep to painting, decorating, and supporting the gardening team, there’s a wide variety of tasks to get involved with. If you enjoy practical work and want to make a real difference, take a look at the full role description to find out more.
If it was a yes to the above, then why not get in touch and give volunteering a try.
The palace is one of properties managed by the Sussex Archaeological Society, the UK’s oldest group of its kind, established in 1846, which is dedicated to preserving Sussex heritage.
As a registered charity, we open historic houses and gardens to the public, curate six accredited museums, and promote research through our extensive libraries, archives, and research grants.
With no government funding, we rely on income from admissions, donations, grants, and memberships to care for 10 Listed buildings, six Scheduled Monuments, and a Registered park and garden. Your support as a Volunteer can help preserve our local heritage.
