Cafe Helpers

For Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove

We are looking for volunteers to help in the café on a Tuesday & a Friday from 1pm to 3pm, taking orders for food, making and serving drinks and keeping the area clean and tidy at all times.

Also, occasionally assisting with washing up in the kitchen. Other duties will include setting up the café area and clearing up at the end of the day.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Flexibility with a team approach. A genuine interest in people and empathy with older people.
• Ideally, although not essential, previous experience of working with people in a cafe and showing a supportive & caring capacity.
• A basic understanding of, and a willingness to learn about, keeping yourself and others safe while performing the role.

Availability

We are starting this project from March, so we are allowing some time for interviewing and induction.
