Dementia Daybreak Club Assistant

For Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove

You will assist in supporting people living with dementia and their carers by helpingĀ the Club Coordinator and Support Worker in the smooth running of the Daybreak Club service.

This can involve but is not limited to, preparing refreshments for customers, supporting staff in the delivery of activities provided and supporting customers to have meaningful engagement.

Training will be provided to help you within this role, however having a caring, compassionate and patient disposition is essential.

Where lunch is served you may be required to assist staff in the serving of this as well as clearing tables, washing up and helping to keep the dining area clean.

Any other duties will be discussed and agreed between Volunteer and Coordinator / Manager.

Skills

There are no set qualifications or experience required but a compassionate and caring disposition is essential.

AgeUK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove will support you to ensure you have the appropriate training to help you in your role.

Monday (9am to 3.30pm) at the Woodlands Centre, Rustington, BN16 3HB Friday (9am to 3.30pm) at the Laburnum Centre, Lyon St, Bognor Regis, PO21 1UX We are really grateful if you can give any time in those shifts. Volunteers are encouraged to do the hours that suit them, the location and times of your support will be discussed and agreed on an individual basis during your application process. We do ask that you provide adequate notice for any planned dates you are unable to attend to the Club Coordinator.
