Join us as a Visitor Welcome Volunteer and help bring the story of Fishbourne Roman Palace to life.
You’ll play a key role in creating a memorable experience for our guests – from greeting visitors and processing admissions to sharing fascinating insights about the Palace’s discovery, its stunning mosaics, and its royal resident, Tiberius Claudius Togidubnus.
You might support tours, take part in special events (even in costume!), promote our gift shop, and contribute ideas to enhance the visitor experience.
If it was a yes to the above, then why not get in touch and give volunteering at Fishbourne Roman Palace a try!
The palace is one of properties managed by the Sussex Archaeological Society, the UK’s oldest group of its kind, established in 1846, which is dedicated to preserving Sussex heritage.
As a registered charity, we open historic houses and gardens to the public, curate six accredited museums, and promote research through our extensive libraries, archives, and research grants.
With no government funding, we rely on income from admissions, donations, grants, and memberships to care for 10 Listed buildings, six Scheduled Monuments, and a Registered park and garden. Your support as a Volunteer can help preserve our local heritage.
