Do you have a desire to strategically lead the charity which helps young adults with a moderate/severe learning disability to live as independently as possible and offers opportunities for them to do so?
We aim to grow the charity and are looking to add to our Board membership, seeking people with a passion for helping young adults with disabilities.
You will have the ability to think strategically, assess opportunities and manage risk, provide oversight of staff and volunteers, and have experience of business management in either the public, private, or voluntary sectors.
In particular, we are seeking candidates with skills in one of the following areas:
THINK18 supports young adults (16 – 35 years) with learning disabilities in the UK, and over the past years we have launched some exciting projects including THINKOUT which enables young adults to LIVE, LEARN and WORK in the community.
We develop social networks and friendships, independence and social skills. Emphasis is put on providing these young adults with a safe social environment to enjoy activities with friends.
THINK18 was founded by Tessa Denison in 2019 when her daughter Rosie who has Down Syndrome turned 18 years of age. Tessa recognised a lack of social activities for those who are vulnerable; so THINK18 was born to continue to give young adults like Rosie the opportunity to socialise while in a safe, supportive environment bringing to life our strapline "make friends, have fun".
