Ward helper with a focus on group activities

For Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for Ward Helpers with a focus on group activities to volunteer in our Intermediate Care Unit at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital and Arundel & District Community Hospital, where our patients are offered short term recovery and rehabilitation.

SCFT’s aim is to keep patients out of hospital where we can and supporting patients to leave hospital.

To aid the patients' recovery and to help provide a positive experience whilst at hospital we would like the volunteers to organise and deliver group activity sessions to patients.

Activities will include playing Bingo, other games and organising 'Movie Sessions'.

Skills

In this role you must be confident leading a small group. If you are a people person with good communication and leadership/group work skills and a caring nature we look forward to receiving your application.

Ideally we are looking for someone with the following:

Self-motivated; with an ability to think on your feet and work independently
Punctual and dependable
Professional and friendly demeanor
Excellent communication and listening skills
Demonstrates empathy and compassion
