For St Wilfrid's Hospice

As a member of the retail team, you’ll be helping us encourage the local community to provide care for more people through innovating and collaborating on ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and upcycle!

At our shop, you will have the opportunity to be involved in many aspects of the day-to-day running of the store including, but not limited to:

  • Meeting and welcoming our donors and customers
  • Sorting and pricing
  • Stock replenishment
  • General customer service Shop floor work
  • Processing sales (till work)

Skills

We are looking for individuals to:-

  • Have a welcoming smile, cheerful disposition with good interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable and dependable
  • Have a good level of fitness in order to volunteer in the shop for 3-4 hours,
  • Be confident to deal with a wide range of people, from customers to staff and other volunteers
  • Be flexible as you may be asked to help out with new tasks occasionally 
  • Volunteer as part of a team 
  • You may be required to volunteer unsupervised on occasions
  • Minimum age 16 years
  • Comply with all applicable policies and procedures of the Hospice

Some previous retail experience and/or customer service would be desirable, but not essential.

About St Wilfrid's Hospice

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is much more than a building. We provide tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends.

All our vital services are provided free of charge, thanks to the generous support of fundraisers and donors.
