Chichester Shop Volunteer

Located in a prime position in central Chichester, our Flagship shop in East Street is looking for more volunteers to join their team. We are looking to recruit a diverse team of volunteers from all backgrounds with a wide variety of skills who can help us grow in this fantastic location.

Full training and support is offered.


Skills

Please be aware the shop is in an historic building with 3 flights of stairs and no lift available.

We are looking for individuals to:-

  • Have a welcoming smile, cheerful disposition with good interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable and dependable
  • Have a good level of fitness in order to volunteer in the shop for 3-4 hours,
  • Be confident to deal with a wide range of people, from customers to staff and other volunteers
  • Be flexible as you may be asked to help out with new tasks occasionally 
  • Volunteer as part of a team 
  • You may be required to volunteer unsupervised on occasions
  • Minimum age 16 years (exception DOE)
  • Comply with all applicable policies and procedures of the Hospice

We are specifically looking for volunteer support in the following areas: Sundays - ability to help in a varietyof rooms

Stockroom handler to help sort, price and replenish the shop

Some previous retail experience and/or customer service would be desirable, but not essential.

 

About St Wilfrid's Hospice

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is much more than a building. We provide tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends.

All our vital services are provided free of charge, thanks to the generous support of fundraisers and donors.

St Wilfrid’s employs around 250 people across its clinical, retail, fundraising, and other support service teams. More than 560 people give their time to St Wilfrid’s as volunteers, including on the in-patient unit, in shops, at events, in the café, in the community, and as trustees and committee advisers.
