We are looking for a friendly person who likes serving customers and looks after the shop floor.

The purpose of this role is to assist with the day-to-day running of our warehouse in Chichester and/or at our shop in Bognor Regis: helping with the sorting of donations, pricing of stock, cataloguing stock and engaging with the general public.

Activities could include:

• Serving customers - responding to their enquiries, processing cash & card payments, accepting donations.
• Managing and processing deliveries and collections on the electronic calendar
• Assisting with ensuring the shop floor is clean & tidy, replenished and well presented.
• Helping customers with any query they may have and signposting them to the relevant staff member.
• Assisting with daily health and safety checks to ensure a safe working environment. 

Skills

Do you have or would like to develop:

• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Basic IT skills, Retail & Customer Service skills and competencies
• Understanding the requirements and expectations of delivering exemplary customer service.
• Being sensitive to the vulnerabilities of our clients 

All necessary induction and training will be provided. 

About Stonepillow

Stonepillow provide vital support for homeless and vulnerable people in West Sussex.

Founded in 1989, we are a charity that provides a lifeline for homeless people in Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton. We work with over 130 people every single day, empowering them to rebuild their lives and find independent accommodation they can call home.

We provide a range of services including day centres, hostels, a recovery service, and supported housing. We also have two charity shops which give people the opportunity to learn new skills and access education, training and employment. We are here for people who are sleeping rough or homeless and want to turn their lives around. The support we offer is tailored to the individual’s needs.

Availability

We are very flexible and welcome any volunteers who are happy to devote as little as one morning or afternoon, or we can fit your volunteering around your other commitments (i.e. childcare) so you would be able to come to help us i.e. 10-2. We are open 7 days a week and any help is hugely appreciated!
