About National Trust - Uppark House

The National Trust is a charity organization founded in 1895, dedicated to the preservation of historic buildings and natural landscapes in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It aims to promote public access to these sites while protecting them for future generations. The organization manages a diverse portfolio, including country houses, estates, nature reserves, and urban properties, funded through donations and membership. Its mission is to safeguard nature, beauty, and history for everyone's benefit.
Uppark is a beautifully symmetrical Georgian property high up on the South Downs National Park. We have glorious views over the park and can see as far as the Solent on a clear day.
We have a strong story to tell, both upstairs and downstairs and a lovely landscape that was influenced by those names we all love to hear; Capability Brown and Humphry Repton.
We have an enthusiastic team of volunteers with various roles including: tending to our beautiful gardens, sharing the intriguing history of Uppark with visitors in the house, supporting our visitor reception, helping in the second hand bookshop, and supporting the property office and facilities teams on a day-to-day basis.
