Volunteer Hydrotherapy Pool Safety Assistant

You will be supporting staff and families, helping to set up the equipment needed and making everyone feel at home at our swimming sessions. You will be trained to spot if there are problems and act accordingly alongside qualified staff.

Swimming sessions are available to families on weekly or fortnightly evenings, weekends or weekdays at Chestnut Tree House. The swimming sessions allow families to enjoy life and make memories together in a safe and specially adapted environment. 

Please note a car is required to access Chestnut Tree House due to it's location.

Please note this role is to start in September when additional training will be required.

Skills

• Confident around water
• Physically fit for this active role - the pool is heated to 28 degrees
• Good under pressure or in an emergency
• Understand the importance of confidentiality and boundaries
• Able to accept people as individuals and respect their differences

About Southern Hospice Group

Southern Hospice Group was formed in 2024 when three local hospices merged - Martlets, St Barnabas House and Chestnut Tree House. Together, we support children, young people and adults who have life-limiting conditions which will significantly shorten their lives. We help those we care for, and their loved ones, to make the most of the precious time they have left together. Our expert palliative services support local communities across Sussex and South East Hampshire – at our hospice sites and in people’s homes.

Availability

Flexible role that can fit around a busy lifestyle. Monday-Sunday various shifts.
