For L'Arche Bognor Regis

If you've got a caring nature and want to help your community then we'd love to hear from you at L'Arche.

We home and care for adults with learning disabilities and we're looking for people that can offer their time to help improve the lives of others. There's a huge range of ways you can offer to help, whether it's a simple cup of tea and a chat providing companionship or assisting/leading an arts, dance, choir or drama session, or even simply driving someone to the shops or joining them down the pub.

Gardening, baking, craft, music (choir/ukulele band/jam session) drama, reading together, walking, driving a community vehicle, coffee morning preparation, administration, meditation/prayer, going to church.

Skills

You need to be someone with an open mind, patient and willing to learn alongside our members.
It is important that you can operate relatively independently and understand your own limitations.
You will receive relevant training and support.
Above all an openness to joy and friendship is what is needed.

There has been a L'Arche Community in Bognor Regis since 1978. As a movement of life-sharing Communities, we help each other live full and empowered lives, enriched with belonging, kindness, creativity, fun and joy. We seek every opportunity to celebrate the gifts and contributions of people with learning disabilities. And we look to grow by building mutual relationships across our diversity and differences, and to work together for a more human society.
We are actively recruiting volunteers who can spend time with us using their unique gifts and skills and helping our members develop theirs. Whether its 2 hours a week, 2 days a week or 2 hours a month, we believe you will enjoy your time and receive as much as you give.
