Would you be interested in joining our hospice volunteer driver team who are an invaluable part of our volunteer service?

Out driving team are called upon to transport patients and relatives using our services at the Hospice in Bosham across our catchment area (Emsworth across to Arundel and north up to Midhurst).

They also ensure the safe collection and delivery of items to and from St Richard’s Hospital for our nursing staff and help other departments (e.g. fundraising) with deliveries as and when requested.

To join our driving team applicants will need to provide much more than just a taxi service, they must bring with them the personal care that is such an important aspect of our work here. As a result, volunteer drivers find the help they are able to give can be very rewarding and fulfilling.

Skills

Applicants must be over 25 years old and had at least 2 years driving and for insurance purposes on recruitment are aged under 75.

Applicants will be asked to provide character references, complete with us an enhanced DBS check and have a driving assessment before being accepted.

About St Wilfrid's Hospice

St Wilfrid’s Hospice is much more than a building. We provide tailored end of life care both in the community and at our Hospice, supporting our patients living with a terminal illness, and their family and friends.

All our vital services are provided free of charge, thanks to the generous support of fundraisers and donors.

St Wilfrid’s employs around 250 people across its clinical, retail, fundraising, and other support service teams. More than 560 people give their time to St Wilfrid’s as volunteers, including on the in-patient unit, in shops, at events, in the café, in the community, and as trustees and committee advisers.
