We are looking for a volunteer who will play an important role in promptly transporting food from collection points to the warehouse for sorting, and finally onto the local food bank, which will help to make a real difference in your community.
A confident and safe driver, you’ll enjoy being part of a team and be physically strong so that you can lift and load crates of food.
Your flexible and committed approach will help to maximise donations and improve the efficiency of the food bank.
You will need to be aged between 25 - 75.
You will need to have a full, clean driving licence and be confident driving a variety of vans including Hi-top and Luton tail lift.
“The foodbank was there when we really needed it, it was an absolute lifeline.”
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and other essentials to local people who are referred to us in crisis.
Our volunteers signpost people to agencies who can help provide support with a wide range of issues, including housing, debt management, childcare and mental wellbeing.
We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by Trussell, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
